ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE REQUIRING THAT AFFIRMATIVE ACTION PROGRAMS OF
CONTRACTORS BE SUBMITTED WITH BIDS TO THE CITY OF SALINA IN ORDER
TO INSURE EQUAL TREATMENT OF ALL EMPLOYEES; AMENDING SEC. lLA~63
OF THE SALINA CODE AND REPEALING THE EXISTING SECTION.
BE IT ORDAINED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas:
Sec. 1. That Sec. l1A-63 of the Salina Code is hereby amended to
read as follows:
Sec. lLA-63.
Affirmative action plans.
Every contractor and subcontractor shall submit
with their bid an acceptable written affirmative action
plan which shall:
Sec. llA-63(1). Identify areas of employment,
employment policies, and employment practices which
require action by the contractor or subcontractor
to assure equal employment opportunity.
Sec. lLA-63 (2). Analyze these areas, policies
and practices to determine what actions by said con-
tractor and subcontractor will be most effective.
Sec. l1A-63 (3). Establish a plan with goals
and timetables designed to achieve equal employment
opportunity.
Sec. llA-63 (4). Include provisions for imple~
mentation, monitoring, and periodic evaluation in
order to insure that it continues to be a valid plan.
Sec. 2. That the existing Sec. lLA-63 of the Salina Code is
hereby repealed.
Sec. 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its adoption and publication in the official city newspaper.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
day of February, 1979.
