We, the undersigned, owners of properties as identified
by the street addresses listed opposite our names, which pro-
perties are located in the immedia te vicinity of the intersect ion
of 9th and Crawford Streets, 1n the City of Sa11na, County of
Saline, State of Kansas, do høreb7 protest the action of the
Board of Cit7 Commls. loner s or the Cit7 of Salina 1n rezoning,
purporting to rezone or threatening to rezone the vacant pro-
pertylocated at the southwest corner of the intersection of
9th and Crawford Street. 1n the City of Salina.
The undersigned protestants herein respectfully state
that sald vacant tract at said Intersection should not be zoned
for commercial purposes for the following reaeons:
1. The area in and about said intersection is pre-
dominantly residential in character.
2. The on11 businesses now being operated in and about
said intersection are three filling stations and two small stores
which businesses have been in operation for a long period of time.
3. To allow the commercial development of said south-
west corner of said intersection would be to appreciably and perm-
anentl1 decrease the value of the properties owned by the under-
signed.
The undersigned protestants herein further state
that previous attempts have been made to zone lands in the
immediate vicinit1 for commercial purposes and that the same,
after due reflection and consideration on the part of the City
Commissioners have been by them refused.
The undersigned request that a hearing be had and that
they be allowed an opportunity to appear and discuss the proposed
action to rezone said property at 9th and Crawford Streets.
