Honorable commissioners:
I approach you with a request of safety in mind and am seeking a positive answer to
this request of petition.
On Graves Blvd. where our terminal and shop facilities are located, it has now become
a more industrialized area due to additional businesses in the area. When one ents
our terminal lot, full visibility is needed to see the traffic on the avenue. Some
of our employees have been parking along the employee's parking lot and Graves Blvd.
which causes one to pull further out into traffic to see if someone is coming along
on Graves Blvd.
I asked the Graves maintenance department to paint the east curb for 250' from the
terminal gate towards Crawford Street yellow to eliminate this congestion and help
the flow of traffic. They have complied - however, I now understand one needs to
petition the City Commissioners for a reading to make it official for "no parking"
and then enforcement would be proper if granted.
Graves Truck Line, Inc., owns this property from the cana1,which would be South Street
if it were extended from Broadway west:,. and to Crawford Street to the southwest.
I would be willing to appear formally before you and present the plat survey and
request what I have asked here. If this is not needed, we are thanking you in advance
for your time and consideration. We remain,
