Dear Mr. Nye:
On 17 September 1982, we submitted a petition for utilities to the subject
industrial tract. This petition was filed in accordance with certain con-
ferences and at the urging of the Chamber of Commerce and Salina, Inc.
We understand the petition was discussed at the last City Commission
Executive Meeting and the concensus of the Commission and the Chamber
representative was negative since there is no real 'client in hand at
this time.
We hereby wish to formally withdraw the petition with no formal consideration
by the Commission at this time. We feel it would be detrimental to the future
industrial development efforts of Salina to have a "formal" negative vote on
the record.

Dear Mr. Nye:
We are requesting that the City 1itilities f.or water and sanitary sewer be extended
to serve the subject site intended for industrial development for the benefit of
the City of Salina. We propose that the requested utilities be constructed as a
"Public Benefit".
Attached are location maps of the site location and the proposed location .of the
utility extensions. We have also attached a petition requesting these utilities.
We feel, along with the Chamber of Commerce, that there is a real need for this
property as possible industrial development and the utilities are mandatory.. before
industrial prospects will even consider the site. The site is rated number one
in the state by the Kansas Industrial Commission.
