We the parents and members of the Schilling Elementary Parents and Teachers
Association and concerned citizens of the area do hereby petition the school
safety committee and city council to place a school crossing guard at the
Schilling Elementary School crossing.-
One hundred twenty-eight (128) students use this crosswalk twice dai1y. The
weekday traffic flow is heavy in this area and much of the traffic exceeds the
30 m.p.h. speed limit.
The crossing has long been an area of concern for the Schilling school community.
The: occurrence of a resulting accident involving a first grade student causes us
to draft this petition.
