TO THE PEOPLE OF SALINA, KANSAS, GREETINGS:
WHEREAS, the nation's foodservice industry is a major economic
force employing over 8 million ~orkers nationwide, and over 90 thousand
citizens of tie State of Kansas making our country's largest retaLl
employer; and
WHEREAS, the nation's foodservice industry represents 5 )0,000
operations across the great United States with estimated sales in excess
of $86.9 billion in 1977; and
WHEREAS, the able and imaginative restaurateurs of the City of
Salina operate a wide variety of dining places which contribute greatly
to the eco,omic and social helath of our city;
.JOW, TIIEREFORE, I, KEITII G. DUCKERS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF SALINA,
do hereby proclaim the month of October 1977, as
