A RESOLUTION PURSUANT TO K.S.A. 44-505f EXPRESSING
THE ELECTION OF THE GOVERNING BODY TO ACT AS A SELF -INSURER
UNDER THE KANSAS WORKERS COMPENSATION ACT EFFECTIVE MAY 1,
1991, AND CREATING A SEPARATE FUND IN THE BUDGET AND
ACCOUNTS OF THE CITY WHICH SHALL BE A RESERVE FUND FOR THE
PAYMENT OF WORKERS COMPENSATION CLAIMS, JUDGMENTS, AND
EXPENSES.
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the governing body to express its
election to act as a self -insurer under the Kansas Workers Compensation
Act effective May 1, 1991; SO NOW, THEREFORE
Kansas:
BE IT RESOLVED by the governing body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. Pursuant to K.S.A. 44-505f, the governing body
hereby expresses its election to act as a self -insurer under the Kansas
Workers Compensation Act effective May 1, 1991.
Section 2. In accordance with K.S.A. 44-505f, there is
hereby created a separate reserve fund in the budget and accounts of
the City for the payment of workers compensation claims, judgments, and
expenses.
Section 3. This resolution shall be effective upon its
adoption by the governing body.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the
Mayor this 25th day of March, 1991
