We, the undersigned, being residents and property owners in the City of
Salina, Kansas, do hereby petition your honorable body for
Salina, KS

We resl'0ctfully petition the City of Salin~, once again, to provide an
adequate storm sewer escape at the north end of the "water shed for South
Salina" at the 400 block of East Crawford, Bond and Front and Crawford and
Front. For the past 15 years ,residents around these areas and specifically
bordered by East Crawford, South Second, Wood and Bond have written, appeared
in commission meetings, repeatedly requested help from the City Manager,
City Engineer and City Commissioners.
When we purchased our property in this area, the slough was designated as
a city park, and since the redesignation of a "water shed" we have continued
to live in fear of flooding. Central High School parking lot has been built
and drains upon us; Elmore Shopping area has been built and no adequate or more
drainage has been provided since that time. The church has hard Surfaced a' square
block south of it's location on East Crawford. Building continues along the
edges of the slough. Can't you stop and control and protect those who have
1ived in these areas for years? No action for 15 years to our repeated requests
was the direct cause of severe flooding and great financial loss to us on
September 1, 1977.
We want a storm sewer outlet like was put in for the City County building
located at the 400 block on E~st Crawfrod, we want an adequate storm sewer
atlBond ?nd FrQnt. We w~nt an adequate storm sewer at Crawford and Front.

We want an answer to our petition no later than September 30, 1977.
