RESOLUTION NUMBER 92-4446
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE AND THE
CITY CLERK TO ATTEST AN AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF SALINA,
KANSAS, AND JIM SWEDLUND TO PROVIDE APPRAISAL AND ACQUISITION
SERVICES ON THE INTERCEPTOR SEWER PROJECT IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO
EXCEED NINETY-SEVEN THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED DOLLARS ($97,600).
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas, has scheduled improvements to
construct an interceptor sewer from Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 2 to
Wastewater Treatment Plant No. 1; and
WHEREAS, forty-seven (47) tracts of land along the southern and
eastern boundaries of Salina will require acquisition of permanent easements,
temporary construction easements, and/or right-of-way; and
WHEREAS, acquisition of such easements will require appraisals and
negotiation of the compensation to be paid by the City to the tract owners; and
WHEREAS, utilizing an experienced third party to provide these
services is beneficial to the City of Salina, Kansas; and
WHEREAS, Jim Swedlund has significant experience in the area of
appraisal and acquisition of easement and right-of-way for municipal
improvement projects and is thus highly qualified to provide such services for
the City, SO NOW, THEREFORE
Kansas:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute and
City Clerk to attest an agreement between the City of Salina, Kansas and Jim
Swedlund to provide appraisal and acquisition services on the Interceptor Sewer
Project. Compensation for the services is based on a fixed amount ($800) per
tract for appraisal and a varied amount for acquisition based on the actual
time allotted.
Section 2. That the total cost of the appraisal and acquisition
services shall not exceed ninety-seven thousand six hundred dollars ($97,600).
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor
this 6th day of April, 1992.
