3.1 Proclamation Police WeekWHEREAS, The Congress and President of the 'United States have
designated May 15`h as Peace Officers' Memorial Day, and the week in which
May 15th falls as National Police week; and
WHEREAS, Lav enforcement officers play an important role in
safeguarding the rights, freedoms, safety and security of the citizens of our
community, and
WHEREAs, 'Phe City of Safina desires to honor the valor, dedication,
service andsacrifice of its ownpeace officers, four of -whom have been kiCCed in
the tine of duty, and
WHEREAS, 616 officers were kiCCed in the Cine of duty in 2021 and sadly,
103 have been kiCCed in the Cine of duty so far this year. Our community joins
with other cities andtowns to honor aCCpeace officers everywhere;

every effort to express their thanks to our officers who make itpossiblefor us to

wouCdviolate the Caw.
