An ordinance authorizing the City Manager to execute a contract with Todd McElderry (McElderry
Automotive) for fire protection of property located outside of the city limits.
BACKGROUND:
As per Section 14-1 of the City Code, the City may enter into a contract for fire protection for property
located outside the city limits. This property is located at 1912 W. Old Highway 40, Saline County.
FISCAL NOTE:
The property owner agrees to pay in advance each year a sum equivalent to 1250/0 of the mill levy to
provide fire protection, with a maximum annual charge of $25,000. The cost to the property owner for
the protection would be approximately $750 annually.
RECOMMENDED ACTION
Pass Ordinance No. 05-10261 on first reading.
