A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE NAMING OF THE SALINA
COMMUNITY THEATRE STAGE AND HOUSE AREA THE CHARLES KEPHART
PERFORMANCE HALL
WHEREAS, Charles L. Kephart has provided 35 years of artistic)
leadership and vision in helping to make Salina the culturally vibrant community
it is today; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kephart has been instrumental in building one of the
finest community theatre programs in the state of Kansas; the Salina Community
Theatre facility, deeded to the City in 1973, is visible evidence to that fact;
and
WHEREAS, Mr. Kephart will be retiring from his position of Managing
Director of the Salina Community Theatre in the Spring of 1995; and
WHEREAS, the Salina City Commission, on behalf of the entire
community, wishes to give recognition to Mr. Kephart for his community quality
of life leadership; SO NOW, THEREFORE
Kansas:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. The stage and house area of the Salina Community l
Theatre is hereby named the Charles Kephart Performance Hall.
Section 2. This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and l
after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this
13th day of February, 1995.
