Consider an agreement for landfill engineering services submitted by Camp Dresser and McKee, Inc.
Backaround:
In order to comply with the numerous EPA and KDHE regulations pertaining to the operation of the
Salina Municipal Solid Waste Landfill Facility, we require certain engineering services each year to be
performed. These services include the preparation of a statistical analysis of semi-annual ground water
sampling reports; the preparation of closure/post closure calculations; and other miscellaneous
consultant services.
An agreement has been submitted by our landfill consultant, Camp Dresser and McKee, Inc. (CDM)
addressing the above required services. This agreement covers the period January 1, 2002 through
December 31,2002. Payment to CDM will be based on actual costs incurred by CDM to provide the
engineering services specified or requested by the City. The total compensation, however, shall not
exceed $22,800. We have reviewed this agreement and the fee appears reasonable compensation
for the services provided.
Recommendation:
It is recommended the City Commission approve the attached agreement authorizing CDM to perform
certain engineering services in an amount not to exceed $22,800.
