1.0 CIMCITY COMMISSION INFORMATION MEMORANDUM March 27, 2023 ADMINISTRATIVE BRIEF FROM LAUREN DRISCOLL COMMUNITY & DEVELOPMENT SERVICES The Community & Development Services department has seen a 33% increase in residential renovation, remodel and repair activity in 2022. While activities in the residential construction area have slightly increased we saw a very large increase in the new commercial building project valuations for 2022. The Building Official, acting as the city plan reviewer, along with our residential plan reviewer completed 676 building plan checks in 2022. These plan review numbers did not include the preliminary plan reviews for city owned projects nor does it include Development Review Team meetings with building projects. Our Planning staff completed 664 plan checks for the year which means our five member staff completed 1340 initial plan reviews, correction responses and post permit issuance plan checks throughout the year 2022. As we conclude the 2022 construction year staff has begun to complete our end of year reports for each of our department divisions and has supplied us with the following information about Building Services Division.
