ITEM: Resolution Number 97-5173 establishing a Wastewater Plant Replacement Reserve fund and
'providing for the funding of the Reserve Fund
BACKGROUND: One of the requirements associated with the EPA grant received by the City of Salina to
reconstruct our wastewater treatment plants is that we establish a reserve fund in which to accumulate
resources with which to replace equipment at the Wastewater treatment plant. The fiduciary commitment
is that we must add $60,302 to the fund annually, starting in 1993 and continuing for 20 years.
The resolution provides that at the end of 1997, we are to have a balance of $315,000 in the fund. We
currently have $256,720.96 reserved for this purpose. The remaining $58,279.04 is within our existing
budget authority.

Adopt Resolution 97-5173.
