RES OLUTION NUMBER 22 -8062
A RES OLUTI ON ACCEPTING A CONDITI ONAL GRANT AW ARD FR OM THE
KANSAS H OUSING RES OUR CES CORPO RAT IO N (KHR C) F OR THE EMERGENCY
SOLUTI ONS GRANT. .
WHEREAS, the City of Salina has been the recipient of the Housing and Urban
Development (HUD) Emergency Solutions Grant funding for over twenty years, and has partnered
with local agencies to procure grant funding to assist them in providing services for emergency
shelter, homeless prevention, re-housing, and street outreach; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salina wishes to continue to receive Emergency Solutions Grant
funding and to partner with local agencies to procure grant funding to assist them in providing
services for emergency shelter, homeless prevention, re -housing, and street outreach; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salina works directly with the HUD designated Director of the
Emergency Solutions Grant at the Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (KHRC) and also with
local agencies to assure compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations governing grant funding
and administration; SO N OW THEREF ORE,
BE IT RES OLVED by the Governing Body of the city of Salina, Kansas:
Sec ti on 1. The City Commission hereby authorizes acceptance of the conditional grant
award in the amount of $181 ,331 for the 2022 Emergency Solutions Grant (ESGFFY2022) from the
Kansas Housing Resources Corporation (the "KHRC") to benefit Ashby House, Catholic Charities,
DV ACK, and Salina Grace, and authorizes the Mayor and city staff to sign the related grant
documents for submittal to KHRC.
Sec ti on 2. The grant will provide services as defined in the Code of Federal Regulations for
the HUD Emergency Solutions Grant, as administered by the KHRC .
Sect ion 3 . This resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 8th day of August ,
2022 .
