RESOLUTION NUMBER 97-5142
A RESOLUTION NAMING THE NEIGHBORHOOD SERVICE
PARK NUMBER 1, LOCATED AT THE CORNER OF THIRTEENTH STREET
PACIFIC AVENUE, "PACIFIC PARK," AND NAMING THE NEIGHBOR]
SERVICE AREA PARK NUMBER 2, LOCATED AT FOURTH STREET
WOODLAND AVENUE, "WOODLAND PARK."
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Department is developing
neighborhood parks in north Salina; and
WHEREAS, a 1.5 acre site was purchased July 15, 1996 f
Neighborhood Service Area -("NSA") Number One (1) development including
possible playground recreational area and is located at Thirteenth Street az
Pacific Avenue; and
WHEREAS, a .2 acre site was purchased March 12, 1996 for
neighborhood park in NSA Number Two (2) and is located at Fourth Stri
and Woodland Avenue;and
WHEREAS, in March 1997 residents of these areas were asked
submit names for their respective parks; and
WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board reviewed
proposed names on March 26, 1997 and recommends naming NSA Park Num
One (1) "Pacific Park" and NSA Park Number Two (2) "Woodland Park;"
NOW, THEREFORE
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Kansas:
Section 1. That the NSA Park Number One (1) located a
Thirteenth Street and Pacific Avenue is hereby named "Pacific Park."
Section 2. That the NSA Park Number Two (2) located at Fou
Street and Woodland Avenue is hereby named "Woodland Park."
Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and
from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the
this 14th day of April, 1997.
