RESOLUTION NUMBER 97-5152
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING VERTICAL EXPANSION OF CERTAIN
DISPOSAL AREAS AT THE CITY OF SALINA LANDFILL.
WHEREAS, Kansas Administrative Regulations establish procedures
for establishing higher final closure elevations for disposal areas (cells) at
municipal solid waste landfills; and
WHEREAS, The City of Salina is owner and operator of the landfill
serving Saline County; and
WHEREAS, Based on professional engineering evaluation and
experience in construction, use and closure of disposal areas at this landfill,
the City has determined that establishing higher final elevations (vertical
expansion) is in the public interest. SO NOW THEREFORE
Kansas:
BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina,
Section 1. That the City of Salina Landfill may be expanded
vertically by establishing new closure elevations for Subtitle D Cells One (1)
and Two (2) .
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor
this 5th day of May, 1997.
