RESOLUTION NUMBER 97-5213
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING OBTAINING BIDS ON TEMPORARY NOTES
WHEREAS, the City of Salina, Kansas (the "City") is proceeding with the
following improvements (collectively, the "Project"):
1. Woodland Hills Estates Addition
2. Cedar Creek Addition
3. Eastborough Drainage
4. Riffel Addition
5. Golden Eagle Estates
6. North Ohio Street
7. South Ninth Street, Phase II
8. Magnolia, Rockhurst to Belmont; and
WHEREAS, the City is authorized to issue its general obligation bonds under
the authority of K.S.A. 12-685 et seq. and 12-6a01 et sem. to finance the Project; and
WHEREAS, pending the issuance of the general obligation bonds, the City
wishes to provide temporary financing for the Project through the issuance by the City
of its notes (the "Notes") in the amount of $4,090,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of
Salina, Kansas:
Section 1. That the Finance Director and City Clerk are hereby authorized to
obtain bids for the Notes from prospective purchasers of the Notes and to present the
results of such bids to the Governing Body for approval in connection with the
authorization by the Governing Body of the Notes.
Section 2. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after
its adoption.
Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 3rd day
of November, 1997.
