A resolution authorizing a contract to perform the Municipal Solid Waste Facility 1997
Environmental Monitoring.
Backeround:
Both Federal and State regulations reqmr_' e monitoring Wells and testi:n, g of monitorip, g well .
samples for certain inorganic and orgfinic constituents. In .addition, due cont.ami~.alaon ne~ me
old landfill site, the State has required the facility to record the groundwater levels at certain non-
compliance wells and piezometer locations.
State regulations require the frecluency of well monitoring to be semiannually. State regulations
require annual le. achate monitoring of each cell while the cell is considered to be in operation or
not closed.
Two proposals were received on Tuesday, February 11, 1997 to perform the Municipal Solid
Waste Facility 1997 Environmental Monitoring.

Continental Analytical Services $6,091.40
Recommendation:
Staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to sign a contract with the low proposal,
Continental Analytical Services, for 1997 En(rironment (Well) Monitoring.
