OPEN POLICY TIME
Commissioner Perney commented on a letter he received and asked to go to the full
Commission conceming a four-lane corridor into downtown Salina. Mr. Kissinger stated that
citizen letter, a staff response and a copy of the 1988 State Street study would be provided
to the Commission with their next packet.
Mayor Maxwell asked about the progress with Fox Theatre. Mr. Kissinger reported that staff
has not heard an offer from a not-for-profit group, nor has staff heard that one has been
created, but would ask the group about its timetable.
Mayor Maxwell inquired about tax abatements. Mr. Kissinger suggested a possible study
session on the topic and recreate a past report which showed the success ratio of firms in
Salina which received tax abatements.
