Award of contract for the 2004 Drainage Improvements, Huntington Road Ditch, Project No. 03-
1 394.
BACKGROUND:
The 2004 Sub-CIP Program includes a variety of flood and drainage improvements. These
improvements include drainage studies, storm pipelines, drainage structures, regrading and ditch
liners. This project will install an 8' wide concrete ditch liner in the Huntington Road Ditch from
Magnolia Road north to Wayne Avenue. This ditch has been extremely challenging to maintain and
mow due to the lack of slope in the channel. This liner will allow easy access to equipment for
maintenance activities.
Bids were received for this project on April 13, 2004 as follows:

FISCAL NOTE:
The Capital Improvement Program allocates $350,000 for the 2004 Stormwater Sub-CIP Program.
The 2004 Stormwater Sub-CIP Program allocates $135,000 for this project. As a result of the low
bid, this program will realize a savings of over $68,000.00.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission award the contract for the 2004 Drainage
Improvements, Huntington Road Ditch, Project No. 03-1394, to Wilbur Construction Co. in the
amount of $66,707.05.
