ITEM: Resolution 98-5306 authorizing obtaining bids on temporary notes
for landfill construction.
BACKGROUND: Improvements at the landfill consisting of construction of the third
Subtitle [] cell and construction of some ancillary facilities were authorized on July 27,
1998. We are currently planning on awarding bids on August 3, at which time we will
also determine what portion of the project we will finance with temporary notes. The
project is authorized at $2,400,000, however, we now expect to see final costs
substantially less than that.
We are recommending that we set August 17 as the date to open bids on the temporary
notes, with a closing date scheduled for September 1.
REQUESTED ACTION:
Pass Resolution 98-5308 authorizing the Finance Director and City Clerk to
obtain on the temporary notes.
