STUDY SESSION AGENDA ITEMS
· Drainage Issues - Shawn O'Leary, Director of Engineering and General Services, with the assistance
from Bucher, Willis and Ratliff, briefed the Commission on two drainage projects, 9th and Claflin and
Broadway areas.
· Finance Reports - Rod Franz, Director of Finance and Administration and Dennis Kissinger, City
Manager, presented the Commission with a 1998 financial update regarding City fund balances, key
revenues and key expenditures.
CITIZENS OPEN FORUM ITEMS
· Jack Haney, 324 E. Kirwin voiced his concerns about the proposed 9th and Claflin drainage project's impact
on his residential property.
· Rhea Brunner, 723 Faith Drive, asked the Commission why she had to pay sales tax for her new vehicle
on the pre-dealer rebate price versus the post-dealer rebate amount. Mr. Kissinger explained that she
needed to contact the State of Kansas, Department of Revenue and discuss the issue, since they are the
agency that regulates the sales tax collection process.
