Resolution Number 04-6057 eliminating the Emergency Medical Service Council (EMSC).
BACKGROUND:
The EMS Council was established November 19, 2001, Resolution Number 01-Ei775, this council's
main objective was to over see the purchasing of pharmaceuticals from Salina Regional Health
Center. This council was a prerequisite established in the Federal Register dated May 22, 2000
which mandated a council be established prior to any pharmaceutical being purchased by any
Emergency Medical Services.
The Federal Department of Health and Human services has since rewritten the Certified Federal
Register and has removed the requirement of the oversight EMS council. Our EMS program still has
oversight as far as operation, protocols and services by the hospital emergency medical committee
and our Medical Director.

No fiscal impact.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution Number 04-6057.
