Resolution No. 89-4073
Authorizing an agreement with the Saline County Sheriff' s Mounted Patrol and
Rescue Squad, Inc.
Background:
As previously reported to and approved by the Commission (2/27/89) , staff has been
able to negotiate a lease agreement with the Rescue Squad for use of their building
located at Broadway and North Streets as a location for a temporary fire station
during demolition and reconstruction of the Broadway Overpass. This temporary
station is deemed advisable for public safety during the bridge construction, since
the Broadway overpass normally serves as the backup route for emergency vehicles in
the very rare circumstance that all "at-grade" railroad crossings would be blocked.
Fiscal Note:
Staff estimates the cost of this agreement at a maximum of $22,000, with actual
costs likely to be lower, dependent on the time of completion of the bridge project.
These monies were approved in the budget for the bridge project.

Approval of Resolution.
