This resolution constitutes the city's formal application for the
EPA constructio~ grant. It is also referred to as the Step III Grant
Application. The Step I resolution dealt with the preliminary aspects
of the project. Step II resolution called for the preparation of the
detailed plans and specifications. We are told approval of this grant
money is to be made the first week of October.
Items not on the agenda:
I would like for you to plan'on an executive session on Monday to discuss
the appraisals that are enclosed. Larry will be in Topeka, Monday, on
the Kanopolis hearings, and we plan to visit with Doris Winslow Tuesday
morning after receiving some direction fromyou during the Executive
,Session Monday. I imagine it would be best to adjourn to the Executive
session after completing your prepared agenda.
You will note in the Urban Renewal letter from Walker Brents, Jr. that
our bid date, for again rolling over our project notes, is set for
September 14, 1976, at 12:00 Noon Salina time. We are much aware that
last time you asked us to change this hour if at all possible. The
Kansas City HUD Office told us there was absolutely no way they could
even influence this time as it was set by "big daddy" in Washington. We
did try.
