F-6.1 Downtown BeautificationJune 5, 1975

FROM:
SUBJECT:
Norris D. Olson, City Manager
Dean Boyer, City Engineer
Downtown Beautification Project
We received final plans and specifications on the above subject
project at 4:00 P.M. today. These plans were for the Santa Fe Avenue
improvements from Ash Street to Mulberry Street, which we shall refer
to as Phase I. We will have these documents reviewed and be ready to
report on our findings at the City Commission Meeting on June 9, 1975.
As you know, the detailed plans and specifications for the
improvements to be made on Fifth Street and Seventh Street, which we
shall refer to as Phase II, have not been prepared. I have received
three (3) copies, attached hereto, of a proposed contract from
White', Hamele, and Hunsley to prepare these plans and specifications.
This company is the engineering consultants that prepared the Phase I,
Santa Fe Avenue plans. This proposed contract contains the same fee
schedule as the Phase I contract, except with a reduced maximum fee.
I see nothing wrong with this contract and would suggest its approval
on Monday so the plans and specifications can be completed for the
Downtown Beautification Project.
We are in the process of checking the validity of the petition
submitted on the above subject project. This report will also be
completed in time for the City Commission Meeting on June 9, 1975.
Respectfully submitted,
Dean Boyer .' ~
