Change Order No. 1 for the 1997 Concrete Curb/Gutter/Pavement Improvements, Project No. 97-
995.
BACKGROUND:
On April 7, 1997, the 1997 Concrete Pavement Improvements project was awarded to Wilbur
Construction Company for $348,330. This project involves the repair or replacement of existing
concrete pavements throughout the city. The project includes improvements at ten(10) different
locations throughout Salina. Work has been completed at six(6) of the locations.
City staffhas identified the 800 block of Cedar Street as an area in need of pavement improvements.
This change order will add Cedar Street to the list of improvement locations. The work und.er this
change order will consist of removal and replacement of concrete curb, gutter, and pavement'. The
cost of this work is $12,256.00. The total project costs will notbe increased by this change order
due to undernms at other locations. Completing the work on Cedar Street under this project will be
more cost effective than completion on a future project because the contractor is already working in
this general vicinity.
The cOntractor's schedule for this project is July 1, 1997-July 1, 1998. This change will increase
the contract time by 20 calendar days or completion on July 21,1998.
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Commission approve Change Order No. 1 for the 1997 Concrete
Curb/Gutter/Pavement Improvements, Project No. 97-995, in the amount of $12,256.00.

contract dated April 7, 1997 , under the above subject, project and project n~nber in the
following particulars to wit:
1. The specifications and drawings for certain street imprOvements in the City Of Salina, Kansas, dated
March -1997 , are hereby amendedin the following particulars only; all other terms and conditions remain
unchanged.
