Please be advised that the Housing Authority submitted
an application for Section 23 Leased Housing for the
elderly on July 2, 1974. At that time, HUD informed us
that the resolution of the City Commission dated April 8,
1968, covering our present project would be adequate.
They have now ir~ormed us that we need a new resolution
from the City Commission.
Enclosed please find a copy of a resolution which we would
appreciate having on the agenda for the next City Commission
meeting.
Section 23 Leased Housing requires no services to be provided
by the City and no cash to be provided by the City. We have
applied for 125 units. These would be ~wned and operated by
a private developer and would remain on the tax roll.

RESOLUTION APPROVING APPLICATION OF TH~ PROVISIONS
OF S~ION 23 OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSING .AC'f OF
1937, AS A~ENDED ~ TO LOCALITY
t~REAS~ under the provisions of Section 23 of the United States
Housing Act of 1937, as a~ended, the Department of Housing and Urban
Development is authorized to provide financial assistance to local
public housing agencies in providing lo.-rent housing by leasing
dwelling units in privately-owned structures and
I~tEREAS, said Section 23 provides that the provisions thereof
shall not apply to any locality unless the governing body of the
locality has by resolution approved the application of such provisions
to such locality.
NOW, THSREFC~E, be it resolved by the City Co~mission of the City
of Salina, Kansas as follows~
The application of the provisions of Section 23 of the United States
Housing Act of 1937, as amended, to Salina, Kansas is app~:oved.
Adopted by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas, and
