To The People of Salina, Greetings:
W~_&S, Toastmasters Internatlo~l was or6a~izad in 1925, ds a non-
profit organization designed for persons over 21 years of age who seek to
increase their self-confidence through improvement of their'public speaking
ability;~ and
WHEREAS, The organization is divided into Districts, each headed by
an elective District Governor, with educational material and other services
provided by the World Headquarters, which is under the direction .of the
Executive Director; and
WHEELS, There are no occupational, Educational, racial or religious
bars to Toastmasters membership and any person interested in self-improvement
c~ make good use of the opportunities offered by a Toastmasters Club; and
WHEREAS, Members of Toastmasters Intermational are aided in Mastering
the art of effective public speaking; helped in making a poised self-assured
appearance before an audience; propared for chairmanship an~ for participation
in meetings of all kinds; assisted in qualifYiDg for business and civic
recognition, and provided~ with enjoyable fellowship and a forum for the
stimulating exchmuge of ideas.

organization and being cognizant of the many honors won by the citizens
