F-3 Solid Waste DisposalCITY OF SALINA SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL'AREA REGULATIONS General The City of Salina operates a public landfill for the disposal of solid waste materials. Persons entering upon and/or utilizing the landfill site are expected to comply with the rules stated herein or as they may be amended from time to time. A copy of th~se rules will be kept available at the Landfill Attendant's Station for public information. Landfill Attendant and Equipment Operators The attendant and equipment operators on duty at the landfill, under direction of the Superintendent of Sanitation, are respon- sible for supervising, operating and maintaining the landfill. Users of the landfill shall comply with their instructions and directions. Any person refusing to do so may be denied future admittance to the landfill. Hours 7:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. daily Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas Safety Persons entering upon the landfill property do so at their own risk, and are urged to exercise necessary safety precautions to prevent accidents and injury. The discharge of firearms on landfill property is prohibited. Prohibited Materials 1. Motor vehicle bodies and wreckage. 2. Manure. 3. Septic tank sludge. 4. Explosives. 5. Radioactive waste. 6. Large metal storage tanks. 7. Dead livestock. 8. Other materials and/or chemicals which in the opinion of the Health Officer may constitute a special hazard. Solid Waste Disposal Area Regulations Page -2- Logs and Stump~ Logs and stumps will be placed where directed by the attendant. Stumps should be cut as close to the roots as possible to reduce their bulk. Roots will be free of earth to allow quicker burning~ Logs shall not exceed twelve (12) feet in length. C~nders and Ashes Cinders and ashes shall be placed in the burning pit. Burning No fires will be started by any person except the attendant on~ duty. Salvaging.
