WHEREAS, the Rebecca A. Morrison house, 513 South Eighth Street, was established
November 24, 1993, to serve as a home away from home for people from
outside Salina who have a loved one as a patient in Salina Regional Health
Center, and
WHEREAS, the Morrison House is celebrating its twentieth year of operation in 2013,
having served approximately 20,000 guests and provided more than 68,000
nights of accommodations, and
WHEREAS, these guests have come from 443 different Kansas communities, 48 states,
and 18 foreign countries, and
WHEREAS, the Morrison House is supported entirely through contributions, so that
guests are not charged a fee, and
WHEREAS, the National Association of Hospital Hospitality Houses has proclaimed the
week of July 21St to July 27th, to be National Hospital Hospitality House
week in the United States of America,
