Lighting Contract for the City of Salina. This contract covers
the nine 175 watt Mercury Vapor lights at the Sewage Disposal,
RFD #3, Salina, Kansas.

CHARACTER OF SERVICE: Alternating current, 60 cycle, 120 volt multiple circuit.
PRICE PER MONTH: A. For lamps in fixtures hung from four ,foot brackets on existing
wooden poles and connected town existing 120 volt circuit:

- ,189 watt incandescent (2,900 lumens) $ 3.75 per month
175 watt mercury vapor (6,650 lumens) 4.25 per month
• 400 watt mercury vapor (20,000 lumens) 6.50 per month •
B. For each lamp requiring the installation of a wooden pole (not to
exceed 35 feet in height) and one span of overhead secondary (not to exceed 100 feet' it
length) the charge shall be $1.50 per month in addition to the applicable monthly rate
per lamp under "A" above. Service extensions are limited to one pole per lamp.

C. For special installations involving four or more lamps and materials
and equipment not included in "A" and "B" above, the charge per month shall be in act
cordance with the following formula:
1) 1.5%kof Company's actual investment in such lighting system
• (which shall include poles, wires, lighting fixtures, bulbs and all other materials
and installation costs),

2) Energy charge of 25 per KWH calculated on the basis of 4,000
hours operation per year and the wattage of the lamps including ballast and billed, .
in 12 equal monthly installiments.
PAYMENT: Bills shall be rendered monthly and shall be paid within 10 clays after the date
distributed.
HOURS OF SERVICE: Lamps shall operate each night from one-half hour after sunset until
one-half hour before sunrise, being approximately 4,000 hours per year. , _
COMPANY PROPERTY: Facilities installed by Company under this schedul.e. shall at-all timed
remain the property of Company, and Company shall have the right to'enter Customer's
premises as necessary for the installation, maintenance and removal of such facilities.
LAMP RENEWALS: Replacement of lamps due to ordinary burnout shall bo made .at.Company's ex
pence. Replacement because of breakage for any reason shall be charged to Customer at;
Company's actual cost.
TERM: Service at this schedule shall be for the following minimum terms:
A. Lamps installed on existing poles - one year term
B. Lamps installed on additional poles within Section "B" under "PRICE PER
MONTH" .-.:three year term; •

WITN SETH: That the parties hereto, for and in consideration of the mutual
agreements hereinafter set forth, contract as follows:
1. Company shall provide, and Customer shall use and pay for, certain outdoor

of which appears on the reverse side and as a part hereof, and as now on file with
the Kansas Corporation Commission or as reissued and made effective from time to
time as provided by law. In accordance therewith, the price shall -'be Sj 3 per

2. Company shall use reasonable diligence to provide a regular and constant
lighting service, but does not guarantee that the service will at all times be con-
tinuous. In case service should fail for any cause not reasonably within the coni
trol of Company, it shall not be liable for any damage on account of such fai_l.ure
Nothing herein contained shall be construed as permitting Customer to refuse to re-
ceive lighting service as soon as the cause of interruption ie removed.

4. Title to the lighting system hereinbefore described, shall at all time4

5. This agreement, and all the terms and conditions hereof shall be bind-
ing upon and inure to the benefits of the parties hereto, their respective successors
and assigns and is subject to the valid orders of the regulatory authority having !
jurisdiction over Company's rates.

AVAILABLE:
At points on the Company's secondary distribution system where 120 volt
service is available.
APPLICABLE:
To any Customer who contracts for the illumination of outdoor areas not
provided for by the Company's Street Lighting schedules .
EQUIPMENT AND SERVICE PROVIDED:
The Company will install, own and operate the following items designated
as standard equipment :
1. Standard "space-lite" fixtures consisting of mercury vapor
lamps nominally rated at 7,000 or 20 ,000 lumens , open or
enclosed at the Company's discretion, supported by brackets
not to exceed four feet in length affixed to existing wood
i
poles .
2 . Standard "floodlight" fixtures consisting of enclosed mer-
cury vapor lamps nominally rated at 20 ,000 or 59,000 lumens ,
supported by brackets not to exceed four feet in length af-
fixed to existing wood poles .
3. Standard extensions consisting of a wood pole not to exceed
35 feet in length, and a maximum of 165 feet of circuit to
provide service at a Customer designated location.
Standard extensions may be connected in cascade. A standard installa-
tion shall consist of one or more standard units of equipment.
The Company, at its option and upon Customer's request, will install,
own and operate non-standard lamps , poles or other items to meet a Customer's
needs . A non-standard installation is one which includes one or more non-
standard units . It may, however, also include one or more standard units .

A. For each standard fixture as follows :
1. 7,000 lumen space-lite fixture on existing wood pole $4.10 per unit.

B. For non-standard installations as follows :
1. Standard components included as part of a non-standard
installation shall be billed at the standard rate shown
above.
2 . Non-standard components shall be billed at 2.5% of the
Company's investment in such units , (which shall include
poles , wires , lamps and all other installation costs .)
3. Energy for non-standard lamps included in (2) above shall
be priced at 2 per KWH calculated on the basis of 4,000
hours operation of both lamp and ballast at rated wattage
per year and billed in twelve monthly installments.
4. The total monthly bill shall be the sum of the above
three items .
Tax Adjustment: The rates hereunder are subject to locally imposed
taxes as provided in the Company's "Tax Adjustment" schedule for
electric service.
SPECIAL PROVISIONS:
1. Standard fixtures available for installation hereunder shall be
determined by the Company on the basis of their quality, capital
and maintenance costs , long term availability, general customer
acceptance and other factors . The Company, upon request, will
make available to any prospective customer the manufacturer's

PAYMENT:
Monthly bills will be rendered NET, payable within fifteen days of the
date of the bill, and will become delinquent thereafter. Two percent shall
be added to the net amount on the date the bill becomes delinquent as stated
