DISCUSSION:
Construction activities are ahead of schedule. The basins, pumping station, chemical feeds, air
strippers, and plant piping have been completed and are operational. Minor items remain to be
completed. -. "

SOUTH OHIO CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS

SCOPE:
This project involves street and flood control improvements from Belmont Boulevard to Magnolia
Road. Drainage improvements will serve properties on Aurora Avenue, Edward Street, Wesley
Street and Roach Street. This project is one of the largest, single infrastructure projects to be
financed solely with local funds in the history of Salina.
DISCUSSION:
Activities on storm sewer improvements are under way along with pavement improvements.
Construction is approximately 50% complete.

REHABILITATION/RECONSTRUCTION
PUMP STATIONS NO. 32, 46 AND 54

ORIGINAL CONTRACT AMOUNT: $278,000.00
SCOPE:
This project includes the replacement of two(2) Wastewater Pump Stations, No. 32, located in the
1400 block of West Schilling Road and No. 46, located in the 1900 block of Scanlan Avenue. Both
facilities were originally constructed by the Air Force to serve military residential areas, located near
the Holidome. The modification of Pump Station No. 54 consists of the installation of a
larger/deeper wet well to increase pumping efficiency.
DISCUSSION:
Construction activities have been completed on Station No. 32, Station No. 46 and Station No. 54.
These new stations have been placed into operation. The project is substantially complete.

1999 WATER DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM IMPROVEMENTS

SCOPE:
This project includes the replacement of approximately one-half mile of water pipeline at four
locations. The existing water pipeline segments which are being replaced have been identified as
problem areas in the water distribution system for many years with frequent water main breaks, high
maintenance costs, etc.
DISCUSSION:
Construction is complete.

SCOPE:
The project involves over a mile of new sewer lines and over half mile of new water mains to serve
properties along South Ninth Street between Schilling Road on the north and Waterwell Road on
the south. The project is critical to the continued development of this proposed commercial corridor.
DISCUSSION:
This project is complete.

SCOPE:
This project involves the rehabilitation and replacement of a section of 24" gravity sanitary sewer
pipeline under the main tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad on Front Street between Forest Avenue
and Railroad Avenue. This line was installed prior to 1920 as a combination storm/sanitary sewer
but is functioning today as only a sanitary sewer pipeline.
DISCUSSION:
Construction work is neady complete.

of a new cul-de-sac Pheasant Circle. The Eastview Estates:Addition portion of the project is a
continuation of the first phase and includes the completion ofBlakemoore Ddve and Sierra Ddve.
This project will provide 40 additional residential lots for deVelopment when completed.
DISCUSSION:
Construction is complete.

electrical connections at the outside water meter location and at the remote reading receptacle.

The Street Reconstruction' Program, which includes a variety of contracted street repairs will
reconstruct badly deteriorated residential streets with the complete reconstruction of pavement and
curb and gutter. These repairs include asphalt, slurry seals, asphalt crack sealing, asphalt overlays,
bdck street repairs, railroad crossing upgrades, concrete curb and gutter replacement and concrete
street patching.
DISCUSSION:
Construction will begin the middle of July.
