Award of contract for Project No. 13-2957, Salina Municipal Golf Course Sanitary Sewer Service Line.
BACKGROUND:
The Salina Municipal Golf Course has a restroom facility serving the front nine holes, which is located
between holes number four and seven to the east of Grand Prairie Addition. This facility is currently
serviced by a septic tank system. Last year, the septic system failed and since that time, the restroom
has been closed. City staff designed an 868 feet sewer service line to connect the golf course
restroom to the closest available public sewer recently constructed in the Grand Prairie subdivision.
Bids were received for this project on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, and are as follows:

FISCAL NOTE:
The 2013 sub-CIP budget for buildings and facilities allocates $30,000 in sales tax funds for the sewer
line construction, City Project No. 13-2957.
COMFORMANCE WITH STRATEGIC PLAN:
Goal 3: The City will provide the highest quality of services, consistent with governing body direction,
available resources and staff commitment to quality.
RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Staff recommends award of the contract for Project No. 13-2957, Salina Municipal Golf Course
Sanitary Sewer Service Line to Forshee Plumbing, LLC, in the amount of $18,242.00 with a 5.5%
construction contingency ($1,000.00).
