Salina Municipal Band
report and reeuirements for July 1969
Financial report for July 1969. The band needs a check from the City for
the month of July in the amount of $1250.00.
A general statement of hour things have gone to date this year:
In Hay we had fewer members report for rehearsals than estimated,
otherwise things were about as expected except for $100.00 spent
for six large window fans. '!te had a balance of almost $700.00
due to lower number of members attending rehearsals;
` In June (& July 1) -vie were rained out one concert and again had
slightly fewer members in attendance and spent $2704.96 leaving a
balance of ($3250.00 minus 2704.96) $545.o4.
Bank balance after payment of June expenses will be $1251.97
Total need estimated for July 1969 $2500.00
Balance on hand 1250,00
The band needs a check from the City Sdr the month of July $1250.00
Report continued: The present membership of the band is about 60 members.
This is a fluctuating thing and a few drop out and come in all along. Also the
attendance fluctuates through the summer and all the members are never in
attendance at the same time. Vacations, etc., cause this. The attendance at
the last concert (July 1) reached 45 and it should continue at about this.
Expenses are itemized on the bands proposed 1970 budget and this should
show 6 Half pay members instead of 3 Half pay members. It should also show
$2.50 per hour, or fraction thereof, for overtime rehearsal pay for union members,
and 52.50 for service longevity and specialist pay for Full pay members when
applicable.
We have not yet received the 5400.'00 of trust fund money from Local 207
A.F. of that I have been unofficially in_ormed we are to receive to pay
musicians to play music for the public.
