Award bid for the installation of an underground irrigation system to serve the Water Treatment Plant
site.
BACKGROUND:
Proposals were requested from irrigation contractors to install certain underground lawn irrigation
system improvements at the Water Treatment Plant site. This project is a necessary component in
our effort to enhance the overall aesthetics of this facility. The irrigation system installation will
precede the planting of lawn grass, trees and shrubs and, also, the installation of the decorative
perimeter security fencing. Four (4) proposals were submitted and were opened on September 4th.
The results are listed below:

irrigation systems.
FISCAL NOTE:
Funding for this project is included in the 2003 Water and Wastewater C.I.P. budget (Water Plant
Completion). This C.I.P. budget of $200,000 includes the landscaping items; security fencing; Water
Treatment Plant Improvement (Phase II) future change orders; 4th Street traffic barricade upgrades;
and possible exterior aesthetic/public art components.
RECOMMENDATION:
We have reviewed all the proposals submitted and recommend the City Commission accept the
proposal as submitted by Wallace Landscape and Irrigation in the amount of $18,495 to install the
underground irrigation system at the Water Treatment Plant in accordance with their design plan.
