Resolution Number 03-5980 appointing members to the Arts and Humanities Commission, Business
Improvement District No.1 Board of Advisors, Business Improvement District No.1 Design Review
Board, Convention and Tourism Committee, Housing Authority, Human Relations Commission, Park
and Recreation Advisory Board, Salina Planning Commission, Tree Advisory Board, Board of Zoning
Appeals, and the Salina/Saline County Solid Waste Management Committee.
BACKGROUND:
The Citizen Boards and Commissions administrative Resolution Number 90-4242, section 2(c),
instructs that members will be appointed by resolution submitted by the Mayor to the full City
Commission for final approval.
The Salina/Saline County Solid Waste Management Committee membership has been reorganized
by Ordinance Number 03-10153 calling for staggered terms of members being first appointed after its
adoption. The only opening remaining is for a representative from a Third Class City which requires
the nomination by a majority of mayors of those cities.
At this time openings do exist on the above noted boards. The appointments by this resolution will
provide continuity of citizen participation and input.
RECOMMENDATION:
Adopt Resolution Number 03-5980.
