Health Re: Closure of a portion of 7`h Street and a portion of Well place adjacent to
Salina Regional Health Center owned property.
CenterDear Mr. O'Leary,
The purpose of this letter is to petition, in behalf of Salina Regional Health Center,
for closure of a portion of 7`h Street and a portion of Well place adjacent to Salina
Regional Health Center owned property. Rather than attempt description at this time,
I have attached an area plan that notes the desired area requested to be vacated. I
understand there is a $100.00 fee for the petition which has been enclosed with this
correspondence and that a hearing before the Planning Commission and City
Commission will be required.
The further purpose of this request is to enable development of a planned Salina
Regional Health Center patient tower project. Salina Regional Health Center has
completed a request for proposal process, of which some base design was an intended
component of each design firm's response. While specific design and associated
detail is preliminary, each of the respondents noted similar arrangements and I have
included one of those as an example of the expected direction for the development
which demonstrates the need in this petition.
On December 10, 2003, Salina Regional Health Center had completed acquisition of
the properties at 446,448 and 450 South 7`h street. With that acquisition, the street
areas identified are fully bounded by Salina Regional Health Center or the Salina
Regional Health Foundation and as result we do not believe closure will create an
adverse impact for the community and that the facility constructed will be of great
benefit to Salina and the surrounding communities.
Should additional information be needed in order to proceed, please advise me so that
I may expedite those requirements for mutual benefit.
400 S. Santa Fe Sincerely,
and
