Subject: Monday, August 14, 1972 Meeting
STAFF AGENDA
#5 - Mr. Addison requested of Planning how to or how he might
proceed to buy the properties at 831 and 837 Birch. I suggested
he send a letter stating his interests and also the City
Commissioners could not accept a direct proposal, that it was
possible they might consider putting them up for bid. These
were acquired from FtIA a few years ago, along with the other
properties that presently make up Centennial Park.
#6 - The Attorney General's approval of the Metropolitan
Planning Agreement was finally received this week. It contains
the corrections related to in previous meetings, the same being
in Paragraph 19, 39 & 67. We will have a ¢%e~IIl~ for
you to sign Monday. We will place the city's ordinance
creating the commission on our agenda next Monday. This should
not be done until the County Commission signs this amended
agreement.
OTHER ITEMS
I believe Dean's memorandums relating to 4th Street are self-
explanatory. The one containing cost estimates is for your
general information only. These estimates involving right
of way acquisition are strictly that and as yet should not be
made public. They were obtained from a realtor who also thought
that the city would undoubtedly have to condemn in order to
acquire the property.
The Oblinger-Smith Proposal was received today. I am sure
Planning will consider it Tuesday and make their recommendations
for your consideration of it next week.
Jackie, in proofing the minutes for last Monday, caught an
error that required more time than available to finish them
to go out in the packet. She will have them delivered tomorrow
when they are completed.
