Public hearing and consideration of ordinance and resolution extending the current Neighborhood
Revitalization Plan Tax Rebate Program until December 31,2003.
Backaround:
Following discussion and staff reports and previous study sessions and public hearings, the City
Commission directed City staff to prepare the necessary ordinance and resolution to extend the
current Neighborhood Revitalization Act program through 2003. Staff will also begin an extensive
2003 project to research, and analyze and seek public comment or potential revisions and
improvements which could be considered for a January 1, 2004 new plan adoption. This 2003
project will also involve extensive discussions with each of the other local participating taxing
jurisdictions (Saline County; USD 305; Salina Airport Authority; and Salina Public Library).
If today's actions are approved, City staff will contact each of the other agencies asking them to
approve the extension to December 31, 2003 and also asking them to designate a contact person
for us to work with in this 2003 plan review process.
Recommended Action:
(a) Consider Ordinance No. 03-10146 extending the current Neighborhood Revitalization Plan
until December 31, 2003.
(b) Consider Resolution No. 03-5958 authorizing extensions of interlocal agreements relating to
extension of the current Neighborhood Revitalization Plan.
