Harrison APPROVED FOR AGENDA: BY: Resolution Number 82-3599 - requesting that the Director of Accounts and Reports waive the requirements of law relating to the preparation of financial statements and financial reports pursuant to 1981 House Bill 2041. Pursuant to 1982 Senate Bill 531 the Director of Accounts and Reports is directed to waive the requirements of the law relating to the preparation of financial statements and financial reports that conform to generally accepted accounting principles. These financial statements and reports are not relevant to requirements of the cash basis and budget laws of Kansas. COMMISSION ACTION MOTION BY SECOND BY TO: RESOLUTION NUMBER 82-3599 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THAT THE DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTS AND REPORTS WAIVE THE REQUIREMENTS OF LAW RELATING TO THE PREPARATION OF FINANCIAL STATEMENTS AND FINANCIAL REPORTS PURSUANT TO 1981 HOUSE BILL 2041. BE IT RESOLVED by the Governing Body of the City of Salina, Kansas: Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners hereby finds that financial statements and financial reports prepared in conformity with generally accepted accounting principles are not relevant to requirements of the cash basis and budget laws of Kansas and are of no significance and value to the governing body or the general public of the City of Salina. Section 2. That the Director of Accounts and Reports is hereby requested to waive the requirements of law relating to the preparation of financial statements and financial reports that conform to generally accepted accounting principles pursuant to 1981 House Bill 2041. Section 3. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its adoption. Adopted by the Board of Commissioners and signed by the Mayor this 9th day of August, 1982.
