The Union Pacific Railroad has recommended the Commission consider the
crossings at this meeting. Dean Boyer previously provided the Commission
with a memo on the recommended crossings. It detailed the recommended
crossings to be closed.
This memo has been forwarded to the railroad officials and they will be
present at the meeting to discuss this matter. You will recall the memo
recommended that the following crossings be closed:
Bond Street
Wilson Street
Beloit Avenue
Minneapolis Avenue
JeWell Avenue
Kirwin Avenue
Raymond Avenue
Kensington Road
Also, the memo recommended that at Raymond, the railroad maintain a
pedestrian walkway at that location.
The railroad will be present to discuss.their ideas and the intersections
they are proposing to be fully signalized. The Commission may want to
consider the possibility of requiring each of the closed crossings still
have a pedestrian walkway without signals.
