Hill, requesting the vacation of a utility easement in Block 9, Mayfair Addition to the City of Salina. This utility easement is more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the south line of Lot 9, Block 9, Hayfair Addition to the City of Salina, Saline County Kansas, that is 7.00 ft. southeast of the southwest corner of said Lot 9; thence northeasterly along a line parallel to the west line of said Lot 9 a distance of 58.50 feet; thence west along a line parallel to the north line of said Lot 9 a distance of 9.59 ft.; thence north- westerly along a line parallel to the east line of Lot 10, said Block 9 a distance of 8.50 ft.; thence southwesterly along a line parallel to the east line of said Lot 10 a distance of 56.77 ft. to the south line of said Lot 10; thence southeasterly along the south line of said Lot 10 and said Lot 9 a distance of 14.00 ft. to the point of beginning. The utility companies (Kansas Power & Light Co., Salina Cable Television Service and Southwestern Bell Telephone Co.) state they have no need to retain the above easement. There are no existing public sanitary sewer lines and watermains in this easement. This area can be served by City utilities (water and sanitary sewers) without using this easement. The petitioner represents 100% of the property owners affected by this vacation request. We, therefore, recommend the requested vacation be granted to allow the petitioner more flexability in developing this residential site.
