I, Maryland Parker, and other citizens, respectfully request Monday,
February 15, to be set aside as Cordia Wesson Day. She reorganized
the Salina branch of the N.A.A.C.P. thirty-five years ago. She is
credited by other Salinans for helping in organizing other civil
rights organizations and, in so many ways, promoting good relations
between the races.
