Authorizing the City Manager or their designee to offer promotional incentives at the Kenwood Cove
Aquatic Park.
BACKGROUND:
In an attempt to reach additional users and further promote Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park, staff is
recommending the development of promotional incentives for the facility.
Such programs would have some of the following objectives-
1 . Promote usage at marginal times during which the facility has ample capacity.
2. Promote usage by those who do not regularly participate.
3. Promote usage by visitors to the community —those spending the night, or those that are
participating in another event.
4. Encourage healthy lifestyles or aquatic fitness opportunities.
5. Encourage usage by focused groups or organizations.
6. Encourage opportunities for under served youth in the community.
Incentives might include additional services, promotional items, limited reduced price usage, or cross -
promotional opportunities with other entities. The attached resolution would authorize the staff to
develop and offer promotional incentives.
FISCAL NOTE:
There will be small additional costs associated with the advertising and promotional programs.
CONFROMANCE WITH THE STRATEGIC PLAN:
Goal #3 The City will provide the highest quality of services, consistent with governing body direction,
available resources, and staff commitment to quality.
COMMISSION RECOMMENDED ACTION:
It is staff's recommendation the City Commission approve Resolution No. 11 -6833 authorizing the City
Manager or their designee to offer promotional incentives at the Kenwood Cove Aquatic Park.
