Application #Z81-6, filed by the Dee Company, requesting rezoning on
Lot 15, Block 4, Episcopal Military Institute (E.M.I.) Addition from
District "R-2" (Multiple-Family) to District "C-5" (Service-Commercial)
(Approximately 928 N. 5th)
On May 5, 1981, the Salina City Planning Commission held a public hearing on
Application #Z81-6. The applicant was not present at the hearing nor were any
other interested parties desiring to address the application. The Planning
Commission unanimously (5-0) passed a motion recommending denial of the appli-
cation. The motion cited the past and current policy decisions to preserve
the north Salina residential neighborhood from commercial or industrial encroach-
ment and the conflict with this application and the city policy prohibiting strip
commercial development except in certain instances.
To accept the Planning Commission's recommendation the City Commission must pass
a motion denying Application #Z81-6. The County Treasurer certifies there are
no delinquent taxes on this property.
