The following is a request to advertise for bids for two
(2) 1500 gpm Pumping Engines for the Salina Fire Dept. The bid
will also include specific items of equipment necessary to make
these engines operational for fire suppression purposes.
Such engines will upgrade the city's fire defenses considerably
and will increase the pumping capacity of the city fire department
and aid in maintaining or improving the current insurance cl:ass-
ification. The purchase will allow for the positioning of one
major.pumping engine in each of the city's fire stations and the
relocation of one older engine at the airport station.

Sealed proposals, addressed to the City of Salina,
Kansas,.and endorsed "Bid on Fire Apparatus", will
be received at the City-County Building, City of
Salina, Kansas, by D. L. Harrison, City Clerk of
Salina, Kansas up to 10:00 A.M., C.S.T. February 28,
1951 at which time and place the bids will be opened
publicly and read aloud. Bids received later than
this hour and date will be returned unopened.
The City of Salina, Kansas intends to purchase two
(2),'identical, 1,500 G.P.M. pumping engines with
specific equipment for each. The specifications are
written to indicate a s~Ze piece of apparatus and
its associated equipment. Bidding companies should
be aware of the nature of the specifications and
their single apparatus bid approach. Specifications
are available at Fire Station #1, 222 West Elm Street.
A Pre-bid Conference for all interested fire apparatus
manufacturers will be held at 10:00 A.M. in the City
Commission Chambers at the City-County Building on
February 17, 1981. Questions concerning specifiq
items contained within the apparatus specifications
will be answered at that time.
The City Commission of the City of Salina reserves
the right to reject any or all bids with or without
cause and to waive any irregularities therein.
