The attached is a request from Mrs. Jerry Pedersen and Annette Townsend to be
present at the City Commission Meeting to address the issue of the neighborhood
centers.
The City Commission previously referred this matter to the Rec-
reation Commission on December 8, 1980, for the Recreation Com-
mission to solve the issue. As you recall, the neighborhood
centers and policies are the responsibility of the Recreation
Commi s s i on.
The Recreation Commission, at their meeting on January 20,
heard from these same people and appointed a three-member task
force to recommend to the Commission a course of action. It
appears that for the City Commission to address this, first of
all, would reduce the effectiveness of advisory committe~, and
secondly, the Recreation Commission has not yet made a decision
on this matter.
I suggest that we leave .this to the Recreation Commission for
their consideration and decision.
